story from elsewhere....

This is a story I heard from somewhere else…
A woman was admitted to ward after a motor vehicle accident. Days later, someone had ordered a blood count for her and decreased of hemoglobin was noted. The doctor on call in the ward had proceeded with an abdominal cat scan and diagnosed as internal bleeding. Whole world was alerted ( “全世界action” is a world I learnt from a TVB HK custom drama –“缉私群英” ) and the pt was put under before the surgeon arrived to see the patient.
Before landing his scalpel, the surgeon had decided to review the scan again and found that there was no ascites noted….
Lessons :
1. hemoglobin would be diluted after few days of fluid infusion

2. never trust a on call doctor unless you have work with him for a long time
